A Few Words to the Mockers

First of all let me quote the old time preacher Sam Jones: "Whenever you see me with a grubbing-hoe on my shoulder I'm out after grubs, and if you ain't a grub sit still -- I'm not after you.  Do you catch the idea?"

So, to those who find sport in mocking:

First of all, to those of you call me and/or my family hypocrites and inconsistent - Yes.  We are.  So tell us something we don't already know.  We don't live up to the things we believe the scriptures teach, or even our own ideals, on a regular basis.  We are still in
"the body of this death", Rom. 7:24.  So are you, by the way.  So was the Apostle Peter when the Apostle Paul rebuked him before all for dissimulation, as related in Galatians 2:11-14.  (No, I'm not classing us with the Apostles in that any more than I am classing you with them. If you are born again, you are on the same footing as we are before God. You have access to the same Spirit of truth, Eph. 2:18.)

Secondly,
Proverbs 10:19 says, In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.  I've written a lot here.  I know I've said things where I ought to have refrained.  I know there are things that are not right,

but I don't recognize them.  One can't write or say a lot without making mistakes, even sin: preachers, teachers, evangelists, writers, theologians, college professors, etc. - this verse applies equally to all.  I have taken up this task of writing, and though perhaps I should not have written all that I have, yet I find that in spite of my shortcomings the Lord has been merciful and kind to use some of my feeble efforts.  What have you been doing for the Lord lately?

Also, I would mention that when you do find something wrong or sinful in my writing Proverbs 14:9 says, Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

Lastly,
Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.  When you stand before God Almighty He is going to demand an account of you as to what you did with His Son and with His revealed revelation of Himself in His word.  What "Mary Stephens" did or wrote or the fact that she was a hypocrite is not going to be of any interest to Him where you are concerned.  I will answer for myself.  The scriptures speak for themselves.  I have tried to quote scripture heavily.  You will answer for what you did with GOD's word, not mine; and I don't require that others agree with my opinions.  Always, always, always it is the word of God (KJV) you should agree with.  If what I write agrees with the word of God and you don't like that then you will answer to God for that, but not to me.  In the mean time, if you are a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ, get busy about your Father's business.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
