The Place of Peace

At the heart of the cyclone, tearing the sky
And flinging clouds and the towers by
Is the place of central calm;
So here in the roar of mortal things
I have a place where my spirit sings,
In the hollow of God's hand.

- Edwin Markham -

 Charity...

is Gentleness when your words may hurt.

is Patience when your neighbor is curt.

is Deafness when a scandal flows.

is Thoughtfulness for others' woes.

There's Wisdom

There's wisdom in taking the time to care.
There's wisdom in giving and wanting to share.
There's wisdom in grace and making amends.
There's wisdom in having and keeping good friends.

The Coin

Into my heart's treasury
I slipped a coin
That time cannot take
Nor thief purloin--
Oh, better than the minting
Of a gold-crowned king
Is the safe-kept memory
Of a lovely thing.

- Sarah Teasdale -

Home

A Friend as Rare as You

I have no craving for great wealth
And find estates and such,
I year not for a chest of jewels
or the fabled Midas touch;
I'm quite content with what I own,
My needs are very few,
I'm rich indeed, because I have
A friend as rare as you!
