Yoga

Did you know that YOGA in all its forms is Hinduism? "Many say the practice of Yoga has spurred their creativity and relieved tension. But Yoga exercises are more than mere calisthentical maneuvers to tone the muscles and aid physical health. Yoga literally means 'union with God.'  Which God? The Hindu god, Shiva, who is said to be present in the head, awaiting the rise of the goddess, Shakti, who lies in the base of the spine. All the posturing positions of Yoga are designed to achieve this psychosexual union." (copied -- P.T.)

As Christians we have no business employing a pagan device of Satan to supposedly make our lives better. 2Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Our bodies our the temple of the living God and to participate in this form of Hindu devotion is to try mix God's temple with idols. [See the Old Testament to see what God thought of Israel doing this.]

What should you do if you have been involved in Yoga? 1) Stop doing it. 2Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2) Confess your sin of practicing Yoga to the Lord. 1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 3) Denounce the practice verbally and reprove it. Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Fooling around with Satan's device of Yoga may result in achieving his purpose -- being controlled by a devil. Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.   Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart...?

Keep your heart for God, abandon this wicked practice if you are using it, and warn others! Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Yoga defined on Wikipedia

Quote from Wikipedia article:

The word "yoga" derives from the Sanskrit root yuj ("to yoke"); which is cognate to modern English "yoke". Both derive from the Proto-Indo-European root *yeug- meaning "to join" or "unite" [1]. It is generally translated as "union of the individual atma (loosely translated to mean soul) with Paramatma, the universal soul." This may be understood as union with the Divine by integration of body, mind, and spirit. Thus, in essence, one who attempts yoga may loosely be referred to as a yogi or in Sanskrit, a yogin (masculine) or yogini (feminine). These designations are actually intended for advanced practitioners , who have already made considerable progress along the path, towards yoga. (End quote)

Quite literally then, yoga for a Christian is an unequal yoke! See verses above.
