Is God Able to
Keep His Promises?

By Mercy P. [copied]

Are you at the place of decision? not knowing which way to turn? Read Proverbs 3:2-6 - 2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

David knew what it was to suffer, but he also was persuaded that God was able to keep his promises and writes in Psalm 84:11, For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

The trouble with us is that we are so near-sighted in our spiritual vision, we do not know what good things are. The very thing that we would consider a tragedy now, is working for us that exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Listen to the words of the suffering Peter in 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

You may be poor, lonely and despised here, with not even a home to call your own, but if you are trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ, there is an inheritance all ready for you that no one can take away.

With some three thousand promises to rest upon, I can truthfully say that God is able to keep every one of them. There is a promise to meet each situation in life. Read Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Whatever your need may be, He is able and willing to supply. Rest upon your Saviour. If the way seems dark and lonely, keep right on trusting, even though you cannot understand.
