A Soldier in the Army of God

I am a soldier in the army of my God!
The Lord Jesus Christ is my Commanding Officer!
The Holy Bible is my code of conduct!
Faith, prayer and the word are my weapons of warfare!
I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried by adversity and tested by fire!
I am a volunteer in this army, and I am enlisted for eternity!
I will either retire in this army at the rapture or die in this Army;
But I will not get out, sell out, be talked out, Or pushed out!
I can be faithful, reliable, capable and dependable in His strength!
If my God needs me, I am there!
If He needs me in Sunday School, to teach children, work with the youth, help adults or just sit and learn,
He can use me, because I am there!
I am a soldier! I am not a baby!
I do not need to be pampered, petted, primed up, pumped up, picked up or pepped up!
I am a soldier! No one has to call me, remind me, write me, visit me, entice me or lure me!
I am a soldier! I am not a wimp!
I am in place, saluting my King, obeying His orders, praising His name and building His kingdom!
No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards, candy or give me handouts!
I do not need to be cuddled, cradled, cared for or catered to!
I am committed!
I cannot have my feelings hurt bad enough to turn me around!
I cannot be discouraged enough to turn me aside!
I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit!
When Jesus called me into this army, I had nothing!
If I end up with nothing, I will still come out even! I will win!
My God will supply all my needs! I am more than a conqueror!
I will always triumph! I can do all things through Christ!
Devils cannot defeat me! People cannot disillusion me!
Weather cannot weary me! Sickness cannot stop me!
Battles cannot beat me! Money cannot buy me!
Governments cannot silence me and HELL CANNOT HANDLE ME!
I am a soldier! Even death cannot destroy me!
For when my commander calls me from this battlefield,
He will promote me to a captain and then bring me back to rule this world with Him!
I am a soldier, in the army, and I'm marching, claiming victory!
I will not give up! I will not turn around!
I am a soldier, marching heaven bound!
Here I stand!
WILL YOU STAND WITH ME?
Guess what?!?
If you've accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you're already enlisted!
Question is, are you on:
Active Duty: Serving the Lord faithfully, daily, and on duty 24x7
Reserve Status: Serving only when called upon, or twice a year: Christmas and Easter
Guard Status: Backing up the Active Duty group or.....
AWOL: Absent With Out the Lord
THINK ABOUT IT!!!

The Paradox Of Our Age

Author unknown

We have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; we have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

We spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too seldom, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.

We talk too much, love too seldom, and lie too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life; we've added years to life, not life to years.

We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor.

We've conquered outer space, but not inner space; we've done larger things, but not better things; we've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul; we've split the atom, but not our prejudice; we write more, but learn less; plan more, but accomplish less.

We've learned to rush, but not to wait; we have higher incomes, but lower morals; we have more food, but less appeasement; more acquaintances, but fewer friends; more effort but less success.

We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication; we've become long on quantity, but short on quality.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; tall men, and short character; steep profits, and shallow relationships.

These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare; more leisure and less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.

These are days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one-night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the show window, and nothing in the stockroom.

Proverbs. 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

1Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

13 Resolutions to Live By

Age-old wisdom for a brand-new year.

by Jonathan Edwards

Being sensible that I am unable to do anything without God's help, I  do humbly entreat Him, by His grace, to enable me to keep these Resolutions, so far as they are agreeable to His will, for Christ's sake.

[I will] remember to read over these Resolutions once a week.

1. Resolved, That I will do whatsoever I think to be most to the glory of God, and my own good, profit, and pleasure, in the whole of my duration; without any consideration of the time, whether now, or never so many myriads of ages hence. Resolved, to do whatever I think to be my duty, and most for the good and advantage of mankind in general.

2. Resolved, Never to lose one moment of time, but to improve it in the most profitable way I possibly can.

3. Resolved, to live with all my might, while I do live.

4. Resolved, Never to do anything, which I would be afraid to do if it were the last hour of my life.

5. Resolved, Never to do anything out of revenge.

6. Resolved, Never to speak evil of any one, so that it shall tend to his dishonour, more or less, upon no account except for some real good.

7. Resolved, To study the Scriptures so steadily, constantly, and frequently, as that I may find, and plainly perceive, myself to grow in the knowledge of the same.

8. Resolved, Never to count that a prayer, nor to let that pass as a prayer, nor that a petition of prayer, which is so made, that I cannot hope that God will answer it; nor that as a confession which I cannot hope God will accept.

9. Resolved, to ask myself, at the end of every day, week, month and year, wherein I could possibly, in any respect have done better.

10. Resolved, Never to give over, nor in the least to slacken, my fight with my corruption, however unsuccessful I may be.

11. Resolved, After afflictions, to inquire, what I am the better for them; what good I have got by them; and, what I might have got by them.

12. Resolved, Always to do that, which I shall wish I had done when I see others do it.

13. Let there be something of benevolence in all that I speak.

[I would dare to say that memorizing this would do young people a whole lot more good than "The Gettysburg Address" will do them!]
