Christmas
Holy or Profane?
Ezekiel 44:23
And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

"We have no superstitious regard for times and seasons.
Certainly we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical
arrangement called Christmas: first, because we do not believe
in the mass at all, but abhor it, whether it be said or sung in Latin
or in English; and, secondly, because we find no Scriptural
warrant whatever for observing any day as the birthday of
the Savior; and, consequently, its observance is a superstition,
because not of divine authority."
Charles Spurgeon
Sermon on Dec. 24, 1871

The Christmas Story as Given In the Bible - by Stephen Van Nattan  - It isn't what you might think!

How Christmas Got the Pre-eminence in the USA - by Carolyn McCulley  - This holiday, not accepted by many Christian groups of the North, was a Southern holiday until after the Civil War when it was used to encourage national unity by drawing the North and South together in merry making (a paltry tidbit offered the South after they endured such destruction, in my opinion).

The Origins of Christmas Pt. 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 - by Caryl Matrisciana - This is a four part video on Youtube dealing with the pagan, occult and ungodly origins and history of the holiday.  While I feel that the conclusion is somewhat weak in declaring the need to separate the profane from the holy, I find there is a considerable amount of information here and feel that those who watch all four parts of this are truly faced with an important decision - Will you continue to incorporate overtly pagan ritual and tradition in your observance of the birth of Christ, or will you "come out from among them, and be ye separate" (2 Cor. 6:17)?  It is impossible to ignore the historical details presented in this video.  A choice must be made.  [NOTE: I do not recommend watching this documentary with children present.]

Myths of the Season - A Pagan Christmas - by Richard Gilbert  - This is a discussion by a Unitarian trying to blend the pagan and the allegedly Christian aspects of Christmas.  It is very revealing.

Christmas unWrapped - The History of Christmas Pt. 1,  Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5 - A program from the History Channel on Youtube.  Five parts in all.  -  While this is a "positive" presentation of the traditions of Christmas, it also is very revealing and quite compelling in showing the pagan, carnal, and ungodly roots of the holiday.  They present much of the same information that is discussed elsewhere on our page and in our links, but give it all a "good" or "neutral" context and conclusion.  Nevertheless, there is much here to consider. [NOTE: When they refer to "the church" in this documentary they do not distinguish between the Roman Catholic Church and the true church of the living God.  Please exercise discernment in this.  There are many references to "the church" that are referring to Rome, not the true believers.]
