These crunchy, nutty flavored cookies were Gramma's favorite.
She was a great one for making cookies.
Right up till the end, as
long as she was able, she was making cookies for Uncle Don
and Aunt Deb while she stayed with them.

Gramma always loved the red squirrels at Gull Lake. She
liked to watch the squirrels playing and scampering about
their so-important business. She was not always happy
with them, though. When they got into mischief around
the neighborhood she didn't like it. I don't recall what
color it was, but one squirrel chewed a hole in her porch
floor directly under a bag of black walnuts she had sitting
there. How that squirrel could smell those nuts through
the floor was a mystery to us. She had to kind of chuckle in
spite of the damage it had done.
