1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 cups shredded processed sharp American cheese ( about 3/4 pound)
2 cups thin white sauce (Recipe follows)
1 tablespoon butter or marg.

Heat oven to 375º. Cook macaroni as directed on package. Place half the macaroni in ungreased 2-quart casserole. Sprinkle with half the onion, salt, pepper, and cheese; put in remaining macaroni and everything else. Pour white sauce over casserole. Dot with butter. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover; bake for 15 minutes longer
Hint: Instead of cooking it the whole time in the oven you can start cooking it in the microwave and it goes a lot faster! :-)
