Writing Challenges

Writing and Journaling Challenges for 2026

This seemed like a good year to do another writing challenge. For this challenge you will need:

- paper in some form. Blank book, journal, diary, composition book, notebook, loose paper, journaling cards.

- something to write with. Your favorite pen or pencil is good, or you can type them in some form.

Some months I plan to include a free journaling card for you to download. You will need some skill at downloading and printing and a way to print it in a small format suitable for your journal.

There will be one challenge for each month (Lord willing), and the subjects will be appropriate to put in a journal or to simply write for you own purposes. If you prefer to make a digital record or a blog or web page based on the prompt, that's fine.

One of the important things about this type of writing is to leave a record that can help those who come after us or to encourage someone now. Think about how you can share these prompts with others, either as something to do together or maybe to share what your write now or at some future time.
